Stabilized Nitrogen™ Fertilizer Technology

A Longer Window for Nitrogen Uptake

Stabilized Nitrogen™, supplied by Nu-Tec, is a 46-0-0 nitrogen source with dual inhibitors that help reduce key nitrogen-loss pathways and extend the window for plant uptake.

Keeping More Nitrogen Available to Turf

Applied urea can be lost through volatilization at the soil surface and through leaching and denitrification after conversion to nitrate. Stabilization technologies help slow these loss pathways and keep nitrogen available longer.

A Dual-Inhibitor Approach to Nitrogen Protection

Stabilized nitrogen technology combines urease and nitrification inhibitors to help protect nitrogen at different stages of the nitrogen cycle. Nu-Tec supplies stabilized 46-0-0 nitrogen in SGN 150 and SGN 240 particle sizes to support different fertilizer blends and application requirements.

How Urease and Nitrification Inhibitors Reduce Nitrogen Loss

  1. Urease Activity Is Slowed

The urease inhibitor slows the conversion of surface-applied urea that can contribute to ammonia volatilization, helping reduce nitrogen loss at the soil surface.

  2. Urea Has More Time to Move into Soil

Slower conversion gives rainfall or irrigation more time to carry urea below the soil surface.

  3. Nitrification Is Delayed

The nitrification inhibitor slows the conversion of ammonium to nitrate within the soil.

  4. Nitrogen Stays Available Longer

Delaying nitrate formation helps reduce exposure to leaching and denitrification, extending the window for plant uptake.

More Efficient Nitrogen Use Across Changing Conditions

By addressing multiple nitrogen-loss pathways, stabilized nitrogen technology is designed to extend nutrient availability and support dependable turf performance across changing conditions.

Quick Green-Up. Sustained Colour.

The technology is designed to support an early turf response while helping maintain colour over time.

Improved Nitrogen Efficiency

Reducing losses through volatilization, denitrification and leaching helps keep more applied nitrogen available to turf.

Reliable Across Changing Conditions

The dual-inhibitor approach is designed to support nitrogen protection across varying soil temperature, moisture and pH conditions.

Flexible Blending & Application

Stabilized nitrogen can be incorporated into dry or liquid fertilizer blends, while SGN 150 and SGN 240 particle-size options provide flexibility for granular blends and different application requirements.

Where Stabilized Nitrogen™ Technology Fits

Stabilized nitrogen technology is suited to professional turf programs where reducing nitrogen loss and extending nutrient availability are priorities, including granular, spray, dry-blend and liquid applications.
